Field Medical Certification Experience
You have hired a knowledgeable and talented medical team. In addition to their deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and product, many have worked in field liaison roles and have rich experience and health care provider (HCP) relationships based on their tenure in the role. Certification evaluation is a valuable tool to ensure that MSLs have mastered new scientific information and are able to communicate clearly, concisely, and compliantly, creating value for both HCPs, payers, and the company. Additionally, certification provides a snapshot of MSL proficiency, documents performance, and assists front-line managers to identify coaching opportunities.
The Overview
In this Field Medical Certification Experience, we will work with the Field Medical Leadership to draft a certification process for new MSLs, or for a seasoned MSL team that is preparing for a new product launch. We will outline expectations for scientific knowledge, engagement skills, and compliance that are essential for successful field interactions. After identifying and developing 3-4 realistic case scenarios tailored to your company’s disease areas and products, we will design a certification rubric with objective evaluation criteria to be used in the certification experience. To ensure consistency, we will also train evaluators to ensure a fair and objective evaluation.
